We are proud and privileged to be a part of Hillhead Sports Club whose grounds here at Hughenden date from the opening of the clubhouse of the Hillhead High School War Memorial Trust in May 1924.
We have 3 competitive Weekend XIs, Midweek teams, and a Sunday Development XI so there are plenty of opportunity for players of all standards to play in matches and new members are always welcome at the club. We also run various junior teams across the age groups.
Please contact us on enquiries@hillheadcricket.co.uk
Our club is very accessible and is situated in the heart of Glasgow's West End - about 5 minutes by car from Byres Road and within walking distance of Hyndland railway station.
For details of membership rates please check www.hillheadsportsclub.com
On weekends the 1st X1 are playing in the WDCU Premier 3, 50 overs per side and the 2nd & 3rd X1s playing in the Championship 2 & 3 leagues respectively, which are 40 overs per side. All matches start at 12.00. The midweek games (Western cup and Evening League) are played on Tuesday evenings.
The Sunday development team play ‘friendlies’ on a Sunday and this format allows some of our younger or less experienced players to enjoy senior cricket in a competitive but appropriate playing environment.
Senior training/coaching in the summer takes place at 6.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hughenden. In the winter indoor training is held at the High School of Glasgow on a Tuesday evening.
More detailed information on our playing fixtures can be found here.
We have an excellent Junior section supported by our UKCC qualified coaches, volunteers and parents - catering for ages 5 and up. We have several different age groups playing weekly fixtures during the summer including U12s soft ball and hard ball, U14s hard ball and U16s hard ball. We also run the All Stars and Dynamos training sessions through the summer from the ages of 5 - 11.
