East Renfrewshire 133 all out after 36 overs Hillhead 0 for 0 Match abandoned.
The weather in the form of heavy and persistent rain was the winner at this closely
contested WDCU Premiership 2 game at Hughenden on Saturday July 20th.
Hillhead won the toss and inserted their visitors on what proved to be a very sporting
wicket, offering pace to the home attack and consistency of bounce to the visitors batters.
All the visitors got in, but few hung about to any great effect, other than Ali Qazi who
compiled a fine 36 from 41 balls. The rest of the East Renfrewshire batters struggled to get
on top of the home seam attack with Agrim Jain the pick with his 3 for 27 off his 10 opening
overs. Gavin Lynch, who shared the new ball, pitched in with 3 for 51 while “ Shash”
Mazunder tidied up the tail with 3 for 15 off 7 overs.
The rain came virtually at the end of the visitors innings at 14.25. The unrelenting
precipitation brought the inevitable “no result” at 17.30.
Hillhead now travel to Whitehaugh on Saturday July 27th for their return fixture with
Kelburne, start 12.00.
