Although the game started promptly at 12.00 with Hillhead being inserted by their opponents at their Old Anniesland ground, there was little optimism that the fixture would be completed due to the pessimistic weather forecast. And so it proved with the decision to abandon being confirmed by umpires, Alex Dowdalls and Majid Haq, after waiting the prescribed time for the weather to improve.
The abbreviated time spent in the middle was not, however, wasted by the Hillhead batters with opener, Paul Collins, cementing the innings with a typically solid 19 not out, while Hassan Azhar drilled a quickfire 27 with 5 fours, and Jack Holland motored effortlessly to 27 not out, again with 5 fours. Captain and opener, Shehroz Mehmood, fell to a good delivery early on for 4.
